HOW TO CONNECT YOUR ANDROID SMARTPHONE TO O2 DATA SERVICES


Getting your Android handset online can be a challenge when it comes to putting the settings in manually but don’t worry, the guide below will help you get up and running on the mobile web in no time.

Finding where to put the settings in

Setting up new APN settings isn’t particularly common so the area we need to work on is buried a little deeper in the handset than other settings.

Starting from your homescreen:
Go to the main menu/applications list.
Press Settings.
Select Wireless and networks or More settings
Press Mobile networks.
Check Use PacketData/Mobile Data to ensure this is ticked
Tap Access Point Names
Adding the settings to the handset
Now we need to create a new data connection. To do this, press the Menu key and select New APN. You are now presented with a range of fields in which you can fill in the details for your mobile network data connection. Complete the fields in the list with the data below:
Name - o2 mobile web

APN - mobile.o2.co.uk (PAYG - payandgo.o2.co.uk)

Proxy, Port - Please leave blank

Username - o2web (PAYG - payandgo)

Password - password

Server - Please leave blank

MMSC - http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

MMS Proxy - 193.113.200.195

MMS Port - 8080

MCC - 234

MNC - 10

Authentication type - PAP

APN type - Internet + MMS (If no selection available , leave blank )
Right, it’s time to save the settings and check they’re ready to go. Press the Menu key and tap Save to store the new data connection on your handset. Press the field next to the new o2 mobile web option you’ve created to activate the data connection – you should see a green dot or tick appear next to it to show it’s enabled and ready to go.

That’s it, you're set up and activated. Press the Home key to return to your home screen and give the browser a test to see if everything’s up and running, you should be able to load a web page if things have been set up correctly.


HOW TO CONNECT YOUR IPHONE TO O2 DATA SERVICES


Getting your iPhone online can be a challenge when it comes to putting the settings in manually but don’t worry, the guide below will help you get up and running on the mobile web in no time.

To get to the correct area of the settings:
Tap Settings
Tap General
Tap Cellular or Mobile Data
Tap Cellular Data Network or Mobile Data Network
At this point you will see a page headed Cellular Data, or Mobile Data. This is a form which needs the correct details inputting, in order to connect you to the data network. The form needs to be completed as follows:

Getting your Windows Phone device online can be a challenge when it comes to putting the settings in manually but don’t worry, the guide below will help you get up and running on the mobile web in no time.

Finding where to insert the settings

Setting up new APN settings isn’t particularly common so the area we need to work on is buried a little deeper in the handset than other settings.

Starting from the home screen of your handset:

Tap the arrow right in the top corner of the handset to access the main menu and press Settings. Select mobile network and then add apn.

Adding the settings to the handset

The first stage of the setup is to enable your internet connection, fill in the settings below to get setup.
Name - o2 mobile web

(also tick the box that says "make this my current APN")

APN - mobile.o2.co.uk (PAYG - payandgo.o2.co.uk)

Proxy, Proxy Port - Please leave blank

Username - o2web (PAYG - payandgo)

Password - password

The second stage of the configuration is to get your Multimedia messaging configured, fill in the settings below to get up and running. You can find this by continuing to scroll down the page of settings.

MMS APN - mobile.o2.co.uk (PAYG - payandgo.o2.co.uk)

Proxy address - 193.113.200.195

Proxy Port - 8080

Username, Password - Please leave blank

MMSC Address - http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

Tap save (small button with a Disk icon at the bottom)

Press the confirm icon.

Press the Home key to return to standby mode.
That’s it, you're set up and activated. Give the browser a test to see if everything’s up and running, you should be able to load a web page if things have been set up correctly.
